Ajay Fry began his career at age seven in 1990 co-hosting an episode of Rainbow-Merry Go-Round on CHRO TV. Into his teens he continued to appear on popular Canadian children’s series like Are You Afraid Of The Dark, Lassie and Big Wolf on Campus as well as providing voice to characters in animated series like Little LuLu, Arthur and For Better Or For Worse.
Just a month after his 18th birthday he spent the summer living in Beijing and logged more than 100 hours in the studio recording voices for a series of English language educational videos.
At 20 he moved to Toronto, Ontario to attend Humber College’s Post-Grad Comedy program, where he earned a nomination for the Phil Hartman Award. The following year he completed the Second City’s Conservatory program.
In 2006 Ajay fulfilled his childhood dream and returned to television hosting on CRUNCH, YTV’s new Saturday morning block of cartoons. Every Saturday Ajay woke up Canada’s youth with thirty minutes of original hosted interstitial material.
As himself, or wacky characters like Sam The Saturday Scientist, he delighted audiences and drove record numbers of kids to interact with him on the forums at YTV’s website.
After two successful years at YTV Ajay found himself in SPACE… er, or, on SPACE, more appropriately. While he began as the singular host for the The Circuit, after a year the show morphed into the beloved, Canadian Screen Award nominated, series InnerSpace. With InnerSpace Ajay traveled the world covering gaming, film, television, science and technology, comic books, and everything in between, garnering recognition across Canada.
Since returning to Earth in the spring of 2018, Ajay has been live streaming regularly on Twitch, as well as working with Xbox, Nintendo, The Canadian National Exhibition, and regularly guest co-hosting Heads Up Daily & Squad.
In his free time Ajay enjoys playing computer & video games, keeping up on current events, and working on home renovation projects with his wife, Zaira.
